The channel starts on the ulnar side of the base of the nail end of the ring finger, coming to the interdigital gap between the ring finger and the little finger. Next, the channel follows the back surface of the hand in the interosseous gap between the IV and V metacarpal bones. Then the channel on the back surface of the forearm in the interval between the ulna and radius rises to elbow joint, passes through the ulnar process of the ulna, goes up the back surface of the shoulder and reaches the shoulder joint, where at the point of Bin Feng SI.12 converges with the Small Intestine of Hand Tai Yang, deviates to the point of Da Zhui GV.14, where it connects to all Yang channels and Du Mai vessel. Then, it comes to Jian Jin VB.21, from where it passes forward into the supraclavicular fossa, it descends to Tien Jun CV.17, communicates with the pericardium, descends through the diaphragm and sequentially communicates with Shang Jiao, Zhong Jiao, Xiao Jiao.
The first branch of the channel starts in the chest at the level of the point Tien Jun CV.17, then comes to the surface in the supraclavicular fossa, rises up the side of the neck, reaches the mastoid process, goes around the back of the auricle, rises to the top of the ear, at the points of Xuan Li VB.6, Han Yan VB.4 connects with bladder channel of Foot Shao Yang, connects with Du Mai vessel at Bai Hui GV.20, then descends, connecting with the Small Intestine of Hand Tai Yang at Quan Liao SI.18.
The second branch starts at niinesaare angle of the ear in the point Yifeng SJ.17, then it enters the ear, comes out in front of the auricle, connecting at the point of Tin Gong SJ.19 with the Small Intestine channel of Hand Tai Yang. Further, the second branch at Shan Guan VB.3 connects with the Bladder Channel of Foot Shao Yang and with the first branch. Next, the channel reaches the outer corner of the eye, where it connects with the Bladder Channel of Foot Shao Yang at Tun zi Liao (Pupil Crevice) VB.1.
San Jiao Channel of Hand Shao Yang is associated with Shang Jiao, Zhong Jiao, Xia Jiao and pericardium.
