Localization

Posterior to the ear, in a small depression two thirds of the distance along a curved line drawn from Yifeng SJ-17 to Jiaosun SJ-20 following the line of the rim of the ear.

Functions

Dispels wind, removes convulsions, clears holes.

Indications

- 5 holes diseases: glue ear, neurosensory loss of hearing, deaf-dumbness, tinnitus, pain in the ear, vestibulopathy, head congestion, pain in ribs (Qi and blood stagnation), fever in head and ears.
- Disorders of the mind: convulsive conditions in the setting of increased intracranial pressure, epilepsy.
- Features: aggressiveness, lymphadenitis of the cervical and axillary area, facial paralysis, toothache, allergy, fontanelle nonclosure.

Needling Method

Puncture obliquely 0.3 - 0.5 cun. Puncture with the bloodletting. Cauterization.
