Localization

On the dorsal aspect of the big toe, at the junction of lines drawn along the lateral border of the nail and the base of the nail, approximately 0.1 cun from the corner of the nail.

Functions

Regulates liver Qi and blood.

Indications

- Digestive system: abdominal distention and abdominal pain, constipation, blood in stool.
- Reproductive system: genital itching, uterine prolapse, swelling and external genitals pain, reduce the tone and vaginal vault lowering, dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia, amenorrhea, missed periods, uterine hemorrhage, pain in penis balanus, swelling and pain in testicle, pain in urethra. All these diseases are in the setting of liver Qi and blood stagnation.
- Urinary system: blood in urine, semen in urine, urinary retention (Qi lin syndrome, Qi stagnation), frequent urination (prostate adenoma).
- Critical condition: loss of consciousness, heart attack in the setting of the rise of liver Yang, epilepsy in the setting of Qi and heat of liver stagnation.
- Features: pain in the pelvis, initial presentation of hernia in the setting of emptiness of liver Yin, inguinodynia, vision disorders (accommodation disorder), insomnia.

Needling Method

Puncture perpendicularly 0.1 cun. Bloodletting with a triangular needle (Qi and liver heat stagnation). Cauterization in hernias in the setting of cold in the channel.
