Localization

On the mid-axillary line, in the fifth intercostal space, approximately 3 cun inferior to the apex of the axilla, at the level of the nipple.

Functions

Opens chest, moves Qi.

Indications

- Respiratory system: cough, cold fit (loss of cooling).
- Localized diseases: pain in ribs, pain in the armpit, lymphadenitis of the armpit.

Needling Method

Puncture obliquely along the upper edge of the underlying rib by 0.5 - 0.7 cun. Cauterization.
