Medial Side of Upper Arm

Localization

On the radial side of the upper arm, 7 cun above LI. 11 at the insertion of the deltoid muscle. The point is projected on the posterior edge of the deltoid muscle, in the place of its attachment to the humerus, on the triceps muscle of the shoulder.

Intersection

Large intestine channel of Hand Yang Ming, Large intestine channel of Hand Tai Yang, Gall bladder channel and Yang Wei Mai vessel of Foot Shao Yang.

Indications

- Eye disease: eye redness with pain, spontaneous lacrimation, lacrimation in the wind.
- Channel diseases: pain and paresthesia in the shoulder area, difficult movement of shoulder joint, tonic tension of the muscles of the nape and neck.
- Features: tuberculous lymphadenitis of the neck, increases collateral blood flow in the shoulder; the feeling now cold now heat (not cold fit); hidradenitis.

Needling Method

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5 - 0.8 cun; puncture obliquely upward into the muscle at an angle of 20 degrees to a depth of 0.8-1.5 cun. Cauterization.
