Localization

On the chest, in the third intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the midline (Yutang REN-18), on the mamillary line. In women, the upper edge of the breast.

Functions

Cleans heat, expels stagnation, removes pain, resolves swelling.

Indications

- Respiratory system: cough, dyspnea, feeling of fullness in chest.
- Digestive system: abdominal distension, diarrhea.
- Localized diseases: mastitis, mastopathy.
- Features: lip swelling.

Needling Method

Puncture obliquely from top down along the rib 0.3 -0.5 cun. Cauterization. Do not exceed the depth of the needle to avoid injury to the lungs and damage to large arteries. Insert the needle strictly along the lower edge of the intercostal space.
