Meaning

Hidden White. The line of transition of the back and plantar surface of the foot.

Localization

On the dorsal aspect of the big toe, at the junction of lines drawn along the medial border of the nail and the base of the nail, approximately 0.1 cun from the corner of the nail.

Functions

Strengthens spleen, soothes the stomach, nourishes Qi, holds blood, fixes the spirit, calms the mind.

Indications

- Digestive system: abdominal distention and abdominal pain, diarrhea, decreased appetite.
- Reproductive system: uterine hemorrhage, excessive menstruation, spastic pain in the uterus, excessive leucorrhoea.
- Respiratory system: cough, dyspnea, feeling of fullness in chest.
- Cardiovascular system: heart pain, heart palpitation, chest congestion.
- Disorders of the mind: depression, nightmares, mania, insomnia, anxiety.
- Critical condition: loss of consciousness, convulsions in children, stroke.
- Features: dizziness, heaviness in the head, Bell's palsy, blood in urine, nasal hemorrhage, cooling of the lower extremities, paresthesia of the lower extremities.

Needling Method

Puncture perpendicularly 0.1 cun. Triangular needle to let some blood. Cauterization.
