Localization

1 cun below the level of the perineum, in the cavity below the tubercle of the pubic bone. 3 cun directly below Qichong (ST 30), at the proximal end of the thigh, below the pubic tubercle and on the lateral border of m. abductor longus. The point is projected onto the lateral edge of the long femoral adductor muscle and the short femoral adductor muscle.

Functions

Cleans heat in the lower burner (xia jiao), expels dampness.

Indications

- Reproductive system: eczema lesions in the external genitals with severe itching, swelling and testicular pain with trauma, excessive leucorrhoea, elongated or short vagina (correction), uroclepsia with weak sphincter (urine discharge with coughing and sneezing), urinary retention. All these diseases occur in the setting of dampness-heat.

Needling Method

Puncture perpendicularly 1- 2 cun. Cauterization accompanying testis trauma (cold syndrome).
